Rod Martin Wall of Fame

MR 3, Rod Martin

Can you remember it? The 3 interceptions? You gotta know right?

Well for us, The Black Hole knows all about it… Boy do we know!!!

The Superdome in New Orleans, playing the favored Eagles. The Raiders out on the town doin it up and Philly in lockdown under nervous Vermeil. Who would of thunk it right? Who would of thought the Bad Boys would of smacked around the green machine? Well the Raiders did of course, especially Big Rod.

Rod Martin was a star amongst stars that day. Flying all around the field Martin grabbed everything within sight and helped to determine the fate of them poor birds on that glorious day. We can remember it like it was yesterday.

From Black Hole Rob “I remember going to school with a grin a mile long thinking about Rod Martin picking off them 3 passes”….”I will never forget that moment”.

That was then but the impression still lasts today. Rod Martin’s legend remains Big Time in the Raider Nation and so as far as The Black Hole is concerned this is a man who locked in his induction on that Super Bowl Day but since then has done nothing but secure it even more.

Approachable as ever with a smile that lights up the room Rod not only feels like a friend to the fans but truly is one. Rod, you are one of us my man…

As we inducted him on that great evening in 2011, he and Jeff Barnes lit up the crowd with laughter as they told great stories of Raider lore past and held court on stage for 20 minutes as we enjoyed every minute of it.

Rod, Welcome to The Black Hole My Friend…. You always will have a special place in our hearts.

It is always great to see Mr 3
